ABSTRACT

This study aimed to develop the Ayurvedic Types Test and to evaluate its reliability and validity. As a result of types and survey examined by five experts to develop the Ayurvedic Types Test, the Kappa value for verifying the validity among the types was significantly agree with 0.790. In order to verify the reliability, the Contingency Coefficient (0) between the physical and psychological items was available: the partition coefficient of Vāta’s physical and psychological items was 0.729; the partition coefficient of Pitta’s physical and psychological items was 0.768; the partition coefficient of Kapha’s physical and psychological items was 0.739. In this way, there is a high correlation between physical and psychological items. It indicates that the reliability and validity of the ayurvedic types test are high. Therefore, the Ayurvedic Types Test is expected to be used in ayurvedic studies, healing and counseling.
